Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sous Chef ("Sous Chef," "we," "our," or "us"), a personalized meal planning service. By creating an account or using Sous Chef, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility

Sous Chef is available only to individuals who are at least 18 years of age. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and that the date of birth you provide is true and accurate. We reserve the right to verify your age and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet this requirement.

Sous Chef is not directed at children under 13. Children do not have accounts and do not interact with the service directly.

2. Household Members and Parental Consent

Sous Chef allows you to add household members to your profile so that meal plans can be tailored to your household's tastes, dietary restrictions, and ages. If you add a household member who is under 13, you represent and warrant the following:

• —You are the parent or legal guardian of that child.
• —You have the authority to provide information about that child for the purpose of meal planning.
• —You provide consent under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for Sous Chef to collect, use, and store the information you provide about that child — such as name, age, dietary restrictions, and food preferences — solely to generate age-appropriate meal plans.
• —You may withdraw this consent at any time by removing the household member from your profile or by deleting your account.

Children under 13 do not sign in, chat with the service, or receive communications from Sous Chef. All information about children is entered by you, the adult account holder.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@meetsouschef.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• —Use Sous Chef for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• —Attempt to access accounts or data that do not belong to you.
• —Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its underlying infrastructure.
• —Submit information about another person without the authority to do so.
• —Use automated systems to generate excessive requests or meal plans.

5. Dietary Information and No Medical Advice

Sous Chef generates meal suggestions based on the information you provide about your household, including allergies, intolerances, and other dietary restrictions. Sous Chef is not a medical service and does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Meal suggestions should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional guidance, particularly in cases of severe allergies, medical conditions, or specialized dietary needs.

You are responsible for reviewing every recipe and grocery item before preparing or serving food to yourself or your household. Always verify ingredients against the allergies and restrictions of anyone who will be eating the meal.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

The Sous Chef name, brand, design, software, and generated content (recipes, plans, efficiency maps) are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your own household meal planning. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute Sous Chef content without our written permission.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Sous Chef may offer paid subscriptions. Pricing, billing intervals, and features of each plan are presented at the point of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the platform where you subscribed (Apple App Store, Google Play, or the web).

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misrepresent your age, or misuse the service. On termination, your household profile and meal history are deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

Sous Chef is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that meal suggestions will be suitable for every dietary or health circumstance.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sous Chef and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, including damages related to food preparation, allergic reactions, or dietary outcomes. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will indicate changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Sous Chef after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
